I have a BA from Harvard University in Women’s Studies and an MFA from Columbia University. I completed a 4-year advanced training in psychoanalysis at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy before becoming a licensed psychoanalyst in the state of New York.
Before becoming a psychoanalyst, I worked in the theater, the literary world, and in academia. These previous endeavors are a part of who I am and they inform the way I practice therapy; I believe that one way we understand ourselves and our relationships is through the artistic and literary artifacts that most resonate with us and I welcome them into a therapeutic conversation. I have also been trained as a yoga instructor; I am alive to the intermingling of our somatic, emotional, and intellectual experiences and can utilize breathwork and other meditative practices within a therapeutic context when appropriate.
